When it's relevant

You are thinking about a pregnancy in the next year, or you have been trying for a while.

Why it's worth a visit

A few things are best sorted out before conceiving, including vaccines, supplements and any medicines you take. A check beforehand gives you the best start.

How your GP can help

Your GP does a pre-pregnancy check, reviews your medicines, vaccinations and family history, arranges any blood tests, and talks through supplements suited to you. If conceiving is taking longer than expected, your GP can begin the initial tests and refer you if needed.

Who can help

All of our GPs can help with this.

Book with your regular doctor, or with whoever is available. Meet our doctors.

Your questions answered

A few of the things people often wonder about before booking. If there's something else on your mind, just ask, we're always happy to talk it through.

Should my partner come too?

Yes, you are welcome to come together. Some checks and vaccines are worth considering for both of you.

How far ahead should we plan?

Ideally a few months before you start trying, so there is time for any vaccines, tests or changes to medicines.

We have been trying for a while. Can you help?

Yes. Book a long appointment, ideally together. Your GP can begin the initial tests and refer you if needed.

Ready when you are.

Book online at any time, or call the front desk during opening hours.
