When it's relevant

A cut, graze, burn, surgical wound or leg ulcer that needs cleaning, dressing or watching.

Why it's worth a visit

Wounds that are slow to heal, or that become red, swollen, hot or painful, need attention, particularly if you have diabetes or poor circulation.

How your GP can help

Our nurses assess, clean and dress the wound, a GP reviews it where needed, and follow-up continues until it has healed.

Who can help

All of our GPs can help with this.

Book with your regular doctor, or with whoever is available. Meet our doctors.

Your questions answered

A few of the things people often wonder about before booking. If there's something else on your mind, just ask, we're always happy to talk it through.

How often will the dressing need changing?

It depends on the wound and the dressing. The nurse will set a schedule with you.

Do I need a tetanus booster?

Possibly, depending on the wound and when you last had one. We will check.

Is there a cost for dressings?

Yes, a dressing fee applies. See the fees page.
