When it's relevant
You are 45 to 49 with a risk factor such as family history, smoking or high blood pressure, or you are 75 or older.
Why it's worth a visit
A dedicated appointment looks at the whole picture in a way a short visit cannot, and often picks up things that are easy to fix.
How your GP can help
A nurse takes measurements and goes through medicines, vaccines, mood, memory and daily life. Your GP then reviews everything with you and sets out what matters most.
