When it's relevant

Thinning, a receding hairline, patches of hair loss, or more hair than usual coming out.

Why it's worth a visit

Hair loss has many causes. Some are temporary, such as after illness or stress, and some reflect a condition that is worth finding.

How your GP can help

Your GP looks at the pattern, asks about your health and may arrange blood tests, then gives you a straightforward account of what the options can and cannot do.

Who can help

All of our GPs can help with this.

Your questions answered

A few of the things people often wonder about before booking. If there's something else on your mind, just ask, we're always happy to talk it through.

Can it be reversed?

That depends on the cause. Some types recover on their own and others can be slowed or partly improved.

Will I need blood tests?

Sometimes, for example to check iron or thyroid levels.

When should I be concerned?

If hair loss is sudden, patchy, or comes with scalp pain, redness or scarring, book soon.

Ready when you are.
