When it's relevant

Low vitamin B12 on a blood test, often with tiredness, pins and needles or a sore tongue.

Why it's worth a visit

Low B12 has several causes, including diet, some medicines and conditions that affect absorption. The cause decides the treatment.

How your GP can help

Your GP confirms the level and the reason, and our nurses give the injections on the schedule your GP sets.

Who can help

All of our GPs can help with this.

Your questions answered

A few of the things people often wonder about before booking. If there's something else on your mind, just ask, we're always happy to talk it through.

How often are injections needed?

More often at first, then usually every few months.

Can I take tablets instead?

Sometimes. It depends on why your level is low.

Do I need to see the doctor each time?

No. After the first assessment, injections are given at a nurse appointment, with periodic GP review.
